Enlaces importantes

This blog is meant to coordinate the activities of two sections of Law, one of Social Work and one of Environmental Management students at Aldea Andrés Bello. The course meets on sundays at noon and it is an English One course.

Each one of the groups has its own blog:

Group 1: Estudiantes de 9no semestre de derecho

Group 2: Estudiantes de 6to semestre de derecho

Group 3: Estudiantes de 5to semestre de gestión social

Each of these blogs contains personal information of the students, as well as reading material related to their academic specialties and other pertinent information.

The English students of Mison Sucre salute you

We are proud students of Law, Social Management and Environmental Management engaged in one of the most difficult subjects, given the peculiarities of Venezuelan education. Among us, the teaching of languages regretably does not receive the importance it actually has. The students generally do not know their own language, or at least the linguistic aspects of it, and this is a sine qua non condition for the appropriate learning of another language.

We have decided to be very realistic and thus, 1) we limit our teaching effort to the improvement of reading capabilities. 2) We begin the course by reinforcing the general knowledge of languages, particularly of Spanish. 3) The use of the dictionary is a very important issue for us, since the dictionary contains more information than people usually think. 4) We have a structured plan of reading exercises, going from the very simple ones, aimed at improving the students' awareness on the linguistic structures of English. 5) Once this basic stage is accomplished, the course assumes the philosophy of ESP, and we provide the students with texts related to their academic specialties.
